    Blackjack!

Blackjack can be played with one to eight ordinary decks of cards. Cards of rank 2 through 10 are scored according to their face value. All face cards are 10 points. Aces are semi-wild and can be worth either 1 or 11 points. The highest hand in blackjack is an ace and any 10-point card and is called a blackjack. A winning blackjack pays 3 to 2. If both player and dealer have a blackjack the bet is a push. Aside from a blackjack, a winning hand pays even money. The player wins if his hand has more points than the dealer, without going over 21. Continue reading if you want to learn how to win at this lucrative game!

    Roulette

There is a difference in Roulette wheels. The difference is the 00 featured on the American wheel, which is not placed on the French wheel in use at European casinos. The French wheel has 36 numbers plus a single 0; the American wheel has 36 numbers plus 0 and 00. All bets at both wheels are paid at odds that would be true if only the 36 numbers existed. The house advantage in roulette comes from the 0 on the French wheel and the 0 and 00 on the American wheel. Would you like to know how to win at playing the wheel?

Las Vegas on a Budget

There is a place just for you - "downtown" is the location. Downtown Las Vegas is a unique, wonderful experience - just wear tennis shoes. "First Friday" festival stretches more than 20 blocks and draws as many as 10,000 people in its peak months. Streets are shut down, booths are built, portable toilets are brought in and stages are erected. Artists show their work for free, and attendees pay no cover to hear the music or look at the beautiful artwork. The best downtown suite is across the street from the El Cortez. It's the very modern, Cabana Suites, each South Beach style suite is designed with custom furnishings, made with heavy use of marble, vinyl, and Swarovski crystal chandeliers. Packed with upgraded comforts such as a 42" Plasma, iHome Stereo with iPod Dock, fine luxury linens, wireless internet access, snack bar and even an in-room safe… to secure all your winnings! Do not miss the Downtown Cocktail Room happy hour M-F, 4 - 8PM. Enjoy some of the best hand-crafted cocktails at the inviting front cocktail room or grab a booth in the dark, sexy speakeasy in the back - the main entrance is off Las Vegas Blvd.

The "Fremont Street Experience" is very glitzy. While the Viva Vision canopy is an amazing wonder, the Fremont Street Experience is more than just a choreographed lights and sounds show. Each year the Experience hosts a number of special events including Race Jam during the NASCAR weekend, the annual Downtown Hoedown during NFR and Las Vegas Bike Fest in September. Live bands perform outside nightly. From the free live entertainment and little shops to the spectacular Viva Vision light show, there is something for everyone. The Golden Nugget has a happy hour M-F, 4 - 6PM in the Chart House. I'm sure you won't miss the 75,000 gallon aquarium that's the centerpiece of the sleek Las Vegas Chart House, right? The Golden Nugget has lots of rooms and suites, and the Rush Tower rooms are the largest, with incredible views!  Across the walkway is the Four Queens - both the Nugget and the Queen are real  nice places to gamble!  Win!  Win!  Win!

Lastly, the Las Vegas Country Saloon has a happy hour 7-days a week, 5 - 9PM. Western decor, drinks, beer, happy hour, dance pole and a mechanical bull. It's the only Country Bar Downtown; the Las Vegas Country Saloon features a brand new dance floor, state of the art sound system and Live Music where local and national bands hit the stage several nights a week. Don’t forget about the Las Vegas Thirsty Third Thursday Downtown Pub Crawl every month. It's located above Hennessey's and Mickie Finnz, so check them all out. Nearby, is the Artisan Hotel. At the Artisan there's an ambiance of mystery, and no two rooms or suites are alike. Reproductions of famous works by Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, Piet Mondrian, Pablo Picasso, Gustav Klimt, Fernando Botero and hundreds more are hanging on the walls and ceilings of the Artisan's lobby, lounge, café and in all the hallways. Art Deco inspired lighting and statuary, leather furniture, dark wood, drapery and walls, plus a large fountain create an atmosphere that evokes fin-de-siècle Paris. The Artisan Lounge is open 24 hours daily. You can find drink specials during happy hour and on Friday and Saturday a DJ transforms the room into a hip club room. The lounge also features a humidor stocked with fine cigars. Keep in mind that it's a non-smoking and non-gaming site, however, Circus Circus shows and gaming are about a block away. Plus, the Sapphire gentlemens's club is just down the street!  If you don't like the action (you're not winning) move on.  Take a taxi to casinos that pay (at least for me they do, lol) - the downtown Main Street Station and don't miss the Californian across the street!

One more thing, when you're sick of buffets, try the downtown mexican restaurant called, Casa Don Juan. It's located off Main Street and a lot of the dishes are blended with Jose Cuervo Gold tequila; the smooth flavor complements any of the dishes on their menu. Maria & Raul believe that the key to the success of their restaurant is excellent customer relations, the speed of service, and consistency in offering great food.  Nearby, in Commercial Center you'll find a Mexican restaurant/nightclub, Las Palmas, that has atmosphere and fun over-the-top!

Just have fun - I won't tell. Come back, because I'll be posting other "downtown" vicinity happenings not to miss. Also, I want to test your skills. Scroll to the bottom and answer the question!<---Click Here!
